How to write an ebook?

1) Write something of your expertise.

If Lata Mangeshkar asked to be a cricketer and Sachin Tendulkar to be a singer, would they have reached this level? Remember this dialogue? Similarly, if you want to make it more engaging and exciting, don’t focus on enticing your reader but choosing your expertise. An unknown or Hot topic of the tends will be a tremendous amount of work consisting of a lot of research.

So, don’t follow the herd and be creative in your area.

 2) Think from a publisher’s point of view as well.

You will publish your book on your own, so plan what to write and what order you will write it in. A good writer thinks of all the perspectives, and it includes thinking about how you’ll sell your eBooks, whether it is for money or to sell the concept to your reader.

3) Wait before you jump writing

You must be excited to start writing immediately after your research, but this will lead to the loss of words, repeating words, and exploring unhelpful diversions. Plan your eBook before you start writing. Make a clear outline that at least has a title for each chapter. Such efforts will make your work easier.

4) Don’t just give everything to one.

Survey as much as you need but determine what aspects your reader cares the most, focus on those. Your brain must be generating thousands of ideas, but keep it aside and focus on one. And don’t worry about being missed out on any chapter to address a point, it will come to you as feedback and added later. For every new version of your file, add a new draft, create regular backups, and email yourself a new copy every time.

5) Push yourself to excellence.

Focus on writing consistently and build momentum. Find the right time and a proper place to work on your eBook. Your mind should focus when you are creating something worthy hence, try various techniques that can bring the maximum out of you. Remember Quitting is not an option. Remind yourself what made you write this eBook, how it will affect the reader, and get optimistic about finishing.

 6) Review yourself but still hire an editor

Thoroughly read your whole eBook before editing and write the issues to be fixed, like the chapter in the wrong order, repetitive information, deleting extra data, and whatever to add. Also, hiring an editor helps to identify probably the mistake you have missed. Whether it is a missing word or misplaced apostrophe’s, the editor can quickly pinpoint such errors.

7) Proofreading is essential and works through deadlines.

Even though you have hired an expert and review it on your own, proofreading is mandatory to catch those typos and errors. Put a timeline for the editing phase and catch as many mistakes as possible but once done, publish it, and in case any mistake appears you can always update your eBook

8) Ask a designer to create your front cover.

Books are judged by their cover. You need examples to create the cover, and there are many templates available online, which you can take as a reference. Try to keep your cover page simple and straightforward.

 9) Send eBooks to your friends and get feedback from them before you publish them.

After writing your piece of art, make sure to send these copies to your friends and don’t forget to ask their opinion on the books and ways to improve it, which part they found more engaging and which one they don’t.

How to publish an eBook?

1) Collect pertinent details.

The first thing to keep in mind is to gather precise information about your eBook. It will be great to promote and publish it successfully. On a separate document, write the title of your eBook, titles and subtitles, word count, page number, and everything. After that, try to come up with keywords that are related to your eBooks.

2) Get to know your target audience.

Which section of the society is interested in your eBook? Try to find it on the title of your book or its description. Are they old or young? Do they have mobile phones or laptops? You can make your website and lead traffic to it by putting keywords and generating backlinks; thus, it will help to know your user’s demographic.

3) Choose a publishing platform.

There are varieties of platforms out there. But while choosing a platform, what to take care of in mind is privacy protection, royalties paid to you, and your audience’s scope. Choose the one that will help you make the most money. Platforms such as Kindle, are the most popular among readers. Kindle helps to purchase your book from the marketplace and read the copy in Kindle. It takes 70% of the price of every photograph you sell on your eBook. But the drawback of Kindle is it doesn’t publish to people without kindle leaders, limiting your audience. However, you can check out other eBook publishers such as Lulu, Booktango, and Smashwords. While using a new platform beware of the hidden cost. You can also look into self-publishing with specialized software such as Calibre, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Open office.org.

4) Add connecting links to your blog.

Inclusion of a page that can get your reader back to “about the author” will help them find you online. A subscriber landing page, next book sales page, or anywhere else online where you want to direct them can be done by adding a link. Your reader will be happy to give you feedback; you can also help redirect your reader to appropriate blog content within the body.

 5) Promote your masterpiece.

It’s time to catch more eyes as possible. Let the world know your work. Promote it on social media for visibility, talk about the book, ask your friend to write reviews, and help to promote. Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram are useful social media platforms to explore. A link on LinkedIn can help in promotion as well.
